Appeal following Co-op burglaries

Dear Resident,

Detectives are appealing for the public’s help following two shop burglaries in Cambridgeshire.

Police were first called to the Co-op, in Carter Street, Fordham, at about 1.54am today with reports of a break in at the store.

Three people broke into the shop and stole cash from inside.

A second call came in at 2.32am reporting a break-in at the Co-op, in Girton Road, Girton. Further cash was taken.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing. No one was injured.

We have a team working to investigate the burglaries, which we believe are linked. We would like to hear from anyone in the area who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident, those involved, or the vehicle before or after the incident, to come forward.

We are aware this is not the first incident of its kind in the area and we understand this is very concerning for those involved and the local communities. Extra patrols are also taking place in the area.

Anyone with information, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist the investigations, is asked to report online quoting reference 35/46419/25 (Fordham) or incident 40 of 24 June (Girton), or call 101.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Lockwood

Southern Acquisitive Crime Team
