Appeal following serious assault in Cambridge

Dear Resident,

Our detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in Cambridge last night (Saturday).

We received a call from the ambulance service at about 8pm reporting a man had been assaulted near to the skate park at Jesus Green.

The victim, who is in his 50s, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries where he remains in a stable condition.

It is believed the attack was carried out by two boys who are both described as white, possibly in their mid-to-late teens, one with brown slicked back hair and wearing a white t-shirt and jeans, while the other had blond or light brown hair and was wearing a white t-shirt and shorts.

Detective Constable Amberlie Ford, who is investigating, said: “This was a particularly violent assault which left the victim with fractures to his face and ribs, as well as causing him to lose consciousness temporarily.

“I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or has any information about who might be involved.”

Anyone with information should contact us via our online reporting forms or webchat and quote 35/45862/25. Those without internet access should call 101.

Kind regards,
