Appeal after bike lock attack

Dear Resident,

Can you help? We're appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked with a bike lock outside a shop in Cambridge.

The man in his 30s was attacked as he left Tesco, in Campkin Road, at just before 5pm on Tuesday (10 December).

He was assaulted by two men and struck repeatedly with the bike lock. The pair began to walk away but, as the victim took his phone out to try to get photographs of them, they turned round and attacked him again.

The victim was left with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

DC Vladimir Nikolic said: “This was a nasty attack which has left a man with serious injuries. We think there were people in the area at the time who saw what happened and we would encourage them to come forward and speak to us.”

Anyone with any information is urged to report this to us online via the force website quoting crime reference 35/89409/24. Anyone without internet access should call 101. Please do not reply to this message to report information.

Kind regards,
