Dear Resident,
We recently held a police surgery in Eye with the parish and ward councillors, where issues were raised about a range of topics including anti-social behaviour (ASB), drug use and off-road bikes. In response to this, we carried out a day of action in the village focusing on those issues.
Vehicle nuisance in Eye, including off-road bikes, is a current priority for us and as part of this, we spent some time along High Street and the surrounding roads, talking to those we saw and educating them on the issue. Furthermore, after being made aware of ASB and cannabis use at Eye Green nature reserve, we have been regularly visiting the site and taking a walk around. It was lovely to speak to those who stopped and provided feedback about the work being done.
In the summer months, we often get concerns around the lake at Eye Green nature reserve being used to cool off. While there was no one in the water when we were there, we would like to emphasise that extreme temperatures and unknown hazards beneath the water are incredibly dangerous, even for strong swimmers. Please adhere to the signs around stating no swimming, these are there for your safety. Your feedback is incredibly important when it comes to planning days of action such as this. If you have any concerns you would like to highlight, you can do so by completing our community survey.
Kind regards, | ||||||
