Five children arrested in connection with more than 20 crimes

Dear Resident,

Last Tuesday we arrested five children in the Abbey ward and Cherry Hinton areas in connection with more than 20 crimes in Cambridge including robbery, attempted robbery, theft from a shop, criminal damage, harassment, common assault, making threats to kill and possession of a knife.

Three have been charged and will be appearing in court next month and one was released with no further action.

They have stringent bail conditions including excluding them from entering Cambridge city centre, banning them from certain shops and ensuring they are not wearing face coverings in public.

We urge you to continue to report any incidents or concerns to us via our website or on 101. If a crime is taking place, call us on 999.

We must remind you that these are children and cannot be named for legal reasons.

Kind Regards,

Inspector Juliet Heald
