Bike seized during a day of action to combat anti-social riding

Dear Resident,

Today, we joined up with our Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) to carry out a day of action in the northern sector of Peterborough to tackle nuisance bikes and anti-social riding.

The RCAT officers patrolled Paston, Werrington, Gunthorpe, and Walton on their motorbikes on the lookout for offroad bikes, while our neighbourhood officers were out on foot and in vehicles. On these patrols, we engaged with the community, discussed anti-social driving and the effect it has on residents.

We were informed of a bike riding anti-socially along the High Street in Maxey so headed over there and ended up seizing the bike!

It was great to be stopped by so many members of the public who wanted to talk to us about the issues and talk about the work that we are doing as a result of your feedback.

We will be doing these joint days of action in the future to continue tackling the issue, as well as having a regular high-vis presence in a bid to deter any anti-social behaviour.

You can find out more about anti-social vehicle use and how to report it to us on our website.

Kind regards,
