Dear Resident,

We’re investigating a spate of thefts from charity banks across the south of Cambridgeshire.

Since the beginning of March there have been 21 reported thefts in places including Ely, Abbots Ripton and Cambridge, where the locks on the banks have been damaged and the public donations removed.

Incidents such as this are very disruptive for the charities which are trying to raise funds for good causes.

If you notice anything suspicious around clothing banks when you are visiting supermarkets or driving around, please report it to us. If a crime is in progress, call 999. Otherwise please report it to us online or call 101 if you don’t have internet access.
